Another Study, More Controversy

Karen S. Petersen, of USA TODAY, writes about Elizabeth Marquardt's recent study on the impact of divorce upon children. Marquardt's findings are similar to those of Judith Wallerstein fueling once again controversy about this very emotional and touchy issue.
There are also research studies showing that children of divorce emerge as "competent, fairly happy adults." The article has an interesting sidebar showing the main differences between two of these studies.
We personally believe that children are better off with two divorced parents who have been able to cease fighting with each other, than being raised in a home with continued conflict and insecurity.
