Genetics is No Excuse for Betraying the Values of Marriage

Sunday November 28, 2004
Carmen Reid, in an opinion article in Scotland on Sunday, writes about her take on Hillary Rodham Clinton's reasons for staying with Bill.

She discusses the apparent genetic link to infidelity, and states, "It’s an intriguingly interesting part of the human condition that we are genetically programmed - some clearly more so than others - to scatter our genes far and wide, but hormonally and psychologically primed to stay together to nurture and raise those precious offspring. But while our DNA may be predetermined, how we chose to spread it about is of our own free will."
