Lost Boy Says Dowry is About Honoring Her Family

After a brief encounter with one another while on the run from the civil war in their homeland of Sudan, James and Veronica were separated. In December, 2004, they met unexpectedly again in Winnipeg, Canada, where James was visiting some fellow Lost Boys.

They spent 30 days together - never doing anything more than talk, watch TV news and shake hands in greeting each day. They were never alone together; all their visits were chaperoned."
