Raising Grandkids Can Hurt Long-Term Marriages

In 1978, President Jimmy Carter proclaimed the first Sunday after Labor Day as National Grandparents Day.

As families all over the United States celebrate having their grandparents in their lives, many children are having the experience of living full time with their grandparents.

The number of grandparents who are raising their children is not a new phenomenon. However, the statistics are showing that it is a situation that is becoming more and more common. This new responsibility can have a negative impact on a long-term marriage.

I wish I could truly celebrate this holiday. My children’s grandfather has turned into a potential pedophile and vicious. I wish my kids never had a grandfather. We’d all be happier for it. And that’s for sure!
