Studies have shown that couples with pets have closer relationships and are more satisfied in their marriage than those who don't have pets. However, not every individual in the world likes pets. A marriage of a pet lover and a pet hater will probably have problems.

It’s not very often that you meet a couple comprised of a pet-lover and a pet-hater. Though there are instances that these kinds of marriages do happen. I agree that pets really make marriages fun, they act as children and more than often bring couples closer together.
We are both pet wannabes (wannahaves?). We like the idea, but can’t quite summon the courage to have one more complication in our lives. We might get there one day, but at least we are united in being indecisive!
My husband and I adopted a 2 year old dog about a month after we got married (we’ve been married for 4 months now). We each have things that we do for the dog and have been nothing but happy with our decision.
