I cannot express the depth of my "cringe response" when I hear the words, "with his wife by his side ..." when an unfaithful politican drags his shellshocked wife to appear in front of cameras and reporters as he offers his apology to both his wife and the world.

I'm not saying that these couples shouldn't try to make a go of their marriage. I'm saying that the cheating spouse should be the one to face the cameras -- alone.
