Killing Time
With time to kill earlier today, we turned off the freeway and headed east towards Bakersfield, California. There are several antique malls in Bakersfield that we really enjoy walking through so that seemed like a good way to spend the afternoon.
The only negative part of today was my realizing that the wall unit I would love to have in our living room is still sitting in the antique store. Why won't someone buy this huge piece of furniture so I can put it out of my mind? I first saw the unit around two years ago. Since then, the price has continued to drop. So unfair. So tempting.
You may wonder why we just don't buy it and have it shipped home. When we started redecorating the house, one room at a time, we mutually decided that we wouldn't purchase more furniture for a room until the room was finished. The living room is one of the last rooms we will tackle. This wall unit would be so in the way right now and until we have the room finished, we won't know if the unit would overwhelm the living room or not. So Bob patiently puts up with my oohs and aahs over the unit each time we visit Bakersfield.
