Does Anyone Really Want to Keep Up With the Kardashians?

Hopefully, relationship wise, no one wants to keep up with Kim Kardashian. Just 72 days after her very expensive wedding, Kim filed for divorce.

Since their issues are obviously more than the honeymoon blues, there are a few lessons other couples can learn from the Kardashian / Humphries split even though the reality for Kim and Kris is obviously different than the reality of most couples. Where to live appears to be one of the "irreconcilable differences" that should have been decided prior to walking down the aisle. Here are a few more lessons:

  • 1. Have the talk, ask the questions, and make decisions about the important big issues in your marriage before you get married.
  • 2. Put your focus on your life together and not on your wedding.
  • 3. Marry for the right reasons. A television show and big wedding are not good reasons unless your marriage is/was a business.
Clare O'Connor: "As for Kim Kardashian herself, she's laughing all the way to the proverbial bank. The New York post pinned her earnings from the wedding at $17.9 million, a figure derived from adding up her various sponsorship deals and freebies ... Using the $17.9 million figure as a crude estimate, Kim raked in just under $250,000 a day, and over $10,000 an hour, for her 72-day marriage."
