A Sentimental Curmudgeon

Throughout his many years as a writer, Andy Rooney's great essays about simple things in life touched many lives. He and his wife of 62 years, Margie, lived most of their long lasting married life in an unpretentious home in Connecticut.

His son Brian commented that when Margie died in 2004, Andy was found on their bed, crying her name. Andy continued writing after her death, but Margie's name rarely appeared because it was too painful for him to write her name.

Andy Rooney died at the age of 92 on November 4, 2011 in New York City.
