Withholding Sex is Not a Laughing Matter

By , About.com GuidesFebruary 24, 2012

Follow me on:

Although told with humor, the story of state legislator David Albo's wife not willing to have sex with him because of Virginia's horrid transvaginal ultrasound bill is really not funny.

Whenever there is manipulation in a marriage, such as withholding sex, the marriage is hurt because manipulation is emotional blackmail.

To be clear -- we're against Virginia's ultrasound bill and we're against withholding sex in the bedroom.

I just wrote a blog post about this: To Sex or Not To Sex. I must agree withholding sex as a punishment will be a determinant to any marriage.

The bible states “Do not deprive each other of sexual relations, unless you both agree to refrain from sexual intimacy for a limited time… (1 Cor. 7:15)”

What his wife is doing is wrong on so many levels. Their sex life should not be tied to any political issues, business issues, or anything else.

She think she is taking a stand against something outside the home but really she is taking a stand against her husband. She is destroying the foundation they have worked so hard to build just to get a point across.

I think there are other ways she can get her point across but to withhold sex from husband is not the answer!
