Here's what you need to know and what documents to bring with you before you apply for a Nebraska marriage license. We recommend getting this legal aspect of your wedding out of the way about a month before your wedding date.

ID Requirement:
You will need picture ID such as a driver's license or passport. Social Security numbers are required also. You will be asked to provide the names of your parents (including mother's maiden name), and your parent's birthplaces.
Residency Requirement:
You do not have to be a resident of Nebraska.You need to provide the date the previous marriage ended (Court date or date of death). You may need to wait for six months before getting remarried.
There is no waiting period in Nebraska.
Same Sex Marriage:
No.
Under 19:
A certified copy of your birth certificate and a notarized consent form must be signed by the person's legal guardian giving consent to the marriage of the minor. Nebraska will not issue a marriage license if either applicant is under 17 years of age.
Officiants in Nebraska:
Any ordained minister, and all judges, including retired judges, and clerk magistrates. Officiants do not have to reside in Nebraska, and they do not have to register with the state.
Witnesses:
Two witnesses are required to be present at your marriage ceremony.
Miscellaneous:
License is good for 1 year anywhere in Nebraska.
Copy of Certificate of Marriage:
June 1976 to the present, contact the County Clerk's Office in which the license was issued.
