Just the Two of Us Again Newsletter

Ok, the kids have flown the coop! It's just the two of you again... now what?

Your roles have probably changed. You may be spending more time together, just the two of you or perhaps your expectations have been turned upside down because a child has boomeranged back home.

This time of change brings about a lot of mixed feelings of emptiness and relief, joy and sadness, enthusiasm and confusion. Will this be a second honeymoon period, or a time of wishing he or she would just leave the house more often?

With good health, you still have more than one-third of your lives to live. Make it a fulfilling time in your marriage by recognizing it can be difficult, but by not avoiding the changes you are experiencing. By talking about your feelings and thoughts about the new roles and changes that are happening, this stage of your marriage can be a time of freedom and new adventures together.
