Newlyweds - September Edition
September is the back to school month, but it also can be the month for starting fresh, creating new beginnings, and getting organized.

This is a great time for a married couple to re-look at some of the decisions they have made as a married couple. In the excitement of getting married, sometimes decisions aren't really made about some practical issues of living together. You just sort of get things done without really talking the situations over with one another.

How do you handle finances? Are adequate records being kept? Are either of you feeling uncomfortable with they way the two of you are spending money? Is your home clean or has clutter and disarray become a part of your life? Are you both doing your share of the household chores? How crowded is your calendar? Do you feel stressed when you think about things either one of you have committed time to?

Being able to re-evaluate decisions and choices is an important communication skill. Sometimes what seems on the surface as a really great idea, just doesn't work out. It doesn't mean that one of you was wrong. It just means that you may need to come up with a different strategy for dealing with that issue.
