House Calls

Psychiatrist Makes House Calls

House Calls, a television show that has been produced in Canada for several seasons is going to be syndicated. The producers, Bert Deveaux and Suzanne Babin (a husband and wife team) are looking for couples who want to work on problems in their relationship to appear on the show to receive one-on-one counseling.

Once selected, a licensed psychiatrist, Dr.Irvin Wolkoff from Toronto, goes to the participants' home with two cameras. He will listen to their problem, give them an analysis of their situation and some tips on how to make their relationship better. Follow up segments will be aired to see how a couple is progressing. Although real names are used, last names usually are not broadcast.

Early shoots will be in Southern California so intitially they are seeking people there.

They are looking for couples, teens, parents, co-workers w/relationship problems, mates, siblings, parents, in-laws, etc who have problems with finances, trust issues, taking responsibility, communication problems, parenting concerns, sexuality fears, etc.

A fee is paid to people who are chosen to appear on the show.

Dr. Irvin Wolkoff practices psychiatry in Toronto. His column "Your Mind" has appeared weekly in the Toronto Star and other newspapers across Canada. Dr. Wolkoff also hosted The Mind Show every week on the Life Network. And in his spare time, he writes In a Glass of His Own, which appears monthly in the Medical Post. He is also vice-president of the Wine Writers’ Circle of Canada.

If you would like to be part of this production, you can call 800-280-5399 or send them an email describing your situation and/or problem.
