With Amy Poehler and Will Arnett successfully working together on many TV and film projects, folks assumed they had a great marriage. Only Poehler and Arnett know the reason for ending their marriage, but there are reports that they separated because the "laughter stopped" and they "drifted apart" when they "fizzled out" even though they "still love each other."

Sadness and disappointment about their "amicable" separation in September 2012 caused others to express feelings about losing a belief in love and soul mates.

Jen Chaney: "The actors — parents to sons Archie, 3, and Abel, 2 — also seem like pretty grounded people. Together, they were one of the rare Hollywood couples who seemed to have a solid chance at a lasting marriage. As silly as it might seem to feel sad about a split between two people that we don’t truly know, it’s really sad."

Donna Freydkin: "Will Arnett and Amy Poehler go together like figure skating and sequins ... But this pair is perfectly matched, in life and on screen ... In person, they're affectionate, rubbing an arm here, patting a shoulder there, without ever encroaching on smug marrieds territory. They effortlessly seem to set up comedy bits for each other."

It's fun to see their rhythm together, they play off each other so well ... They seem comfortable and happy with each other. They joke around and make each other laugh, and that's the key to the success as any couple. They enjoy each other. There's no egos or weirdness. It never seems forced or anything."
