Ed: November 9, 2006 from complications associated with chronic lymphocytic leukemia at the age of 65. Ed died at Mount Sinai hospital in New York.His wife Patricia and friends Jimmy Buffett and Charlayne Hunter-Gault were at his side when he died.
Ed: Award winning reporter and journalist at CBS. He was on the news show 60 Minutes for 25 years. Before entering news reporting, he was a teacher and disc jockey.
Ed was a jazz fan.
Patricia: Artist, photographer, dancer, filmmaker.
Ed and Patricia owned two homes:
- Near Aspen, in Woody creek, Colorado
- New York City, New York
Ed had two previous marriages:
- Dianne ?: Married in 1964 after he graduated from Cheyney State College. The marriage ended in divorce by 1967.
- Priscilla Coolidge-Jones: Priscilla is a composer and a singer with the trio Walela. Ed and Priscilla were married in 1981 and divorced in 1984.
Ed about relationships: "You know, I think I still have a sense that no matter what you do, no matter what you achieve, no matter how much success you have, no matter how much money you have, relationships are important. The people in your life are important. Meaningful relationships with those people are very important."
