According to news reports in 1975, Micheline had two previous marriages.

Sean was previously married to Australian Diane Cilento. Diane was born on October 5, 1933 in New Guinea. She moved to Australia when she was six years old. Diane was an actress and she met Sean during the BBC production of "Anna Christie." Diane's December 6, 1962 marriage to Sean on Gibraltar was her second marriage.

Sean and Diane divorced on September 6, 1973. Diane has a daughter from her first marriage to writer Andrew Volpe. Sean and Diane had one son. Diane married writer Anthony Shaffer in 1985. Anthony and Diane's marriage lasted until his death in 2001. Diane lives in Australia, is a published author, and owned Karnak Playhouse, an open-air theater. Diane died on October 6, 2011 at the age of 78.
