Interfaith Garden Prayer

By Sheri & Bob Stritof, About.com Guide

A garden, whether it is in a pot or in the yard, can act as a lasting symbol of spring and as a constant reminder of new beginnings. Say this prayer together when your garden is being watered for the first time.

Lord God, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all living things, please bless this ground that has been so carefully and lovingly prepared. Bless the seeds we have planted, that they will bring forth a plentiful crop. Bless the sun and water you provide to us, so our crop can be nourished. Bless our labor that we may continue to learn and grow through this experience. Amen.
