Adopted Siblings Marriage Question

J. met his adopted sister as an adult. They fell in love and want to marry. Can adopted siblings get married?

I met a woman that my father had adopted at a funeral. We got close and over the course of 1.5 years time have decided we would like to marry. Now I find out that it is illegal in our state to marry an adopted sibling - even though we never knew each other, did not grow up together, and are NOT related by blood.

Please please please help us. Is there anywhere that would allow us to marry in the US??
