Whether it be a gift of a single simple flower or a single simple word on a love note, these are just two ways to keep your marriage healthy. Although there is no one simple way to make your marriage successful, here are a few suggestions.
  • Listen. Not listening to each other can destroy your marriage.
  • Say 5 Simple Phrases. Saying these phrases more often can enhance your relationship.
  • Love Yourself. You have to love yourself before you can truly love your spouse.
  • Take Care of Yourself. It is important that you do what you can to keep yourself healthy, both emotionally and physically.
  • Laugh Together. The benefits of having a good sense of humor and laughing together are many.
  • Be Romantic. You don't have to spend a fortune to show your romantic side. A little creativity in planning date nights helps though.
  • Give Gifts. Receiving a simple gift for no reason can mean a great deal to your spouse. Unexpected gifts help make your spouse feel appreciated, too.
  • Celebrate Anniversaries. Do not forget your anniversary! Your wedding anniversary is an important day to make special for each other.
  • Be Friends. Yes, passion and intimacy are very important in successful marriages, but so is being a friend to one another. Don't let your friendship take a back seat to other priorities in your lives.
  • Say I Love You. Everyday, make sure that you say the words "I love you" to each other.
