Born:

Nicolas Paul Stéphane Sarközy de Nagy-Bocsa: January 28, 1955 in Paris, France.

Carla Bruni: December 23, 1967 in Turin, Italy.

How Nicolas and Carla Met:

Carla and Nicolas met in November 2007 at a dinner party in Paris when they were introduced by French advertising tycoon Jacques Seguela.

Bruni/Sarkozy Engagement:

Nicolas and Carla reportedly became engaged on Christmas Day, 2007. Carla was noticed wearing a pink, heart-shaped diamond solitaire ring that was designed by Victoire de Castellane, the Dior jewelry designer. The engagement ring is reportedly worth $20,000.

Wedding Date:

Nicolas and Carla were married on February 02, 2008 in a 20-minute civil ceremony at 11:00 am in the Presidential Office of the Elysee Palace in Paris. Carla bought her cream Hermes knee-length wedding dress off the rack in Paris.

Approximately 30 friends and family members were present including their children and Vincent Perez. The wedding ceremony was officiated by Paris's 8th Arrondissement Mayor Francois Lebel. Witnesses for the marriage ceremony were Francois Bazaire and Mathilde Agostinelli.
