Lack of Sex
Lack of Sex

Answer

There are two reasons that we hope you and your husband seek professional counseling before you throw in the towel on your marriage. The first reason is that you say your husband is everything you desire in a spouse except for his lack of interest in sex. The second reason is that your husband has a past history of sexual abuse.

Hopefully, the two of you can work through the issues (medical, psychological, or both) that are having such a negative impact on his sexual libido.

If the only way you can get him to seek professional help is to have a trial separation, then it may be the best course of action for you. However, before you take that step, make sure you have all your ducks in a row from a legal and a financial perspective. This article has more tips on developing an emotional security net.

Do take care, and we hope things work out for you both.
