Legal Marriage

C.G. is concerned that her marriage in Canada is legal in the United States.

Question

I just recently got married in Canada. We got our official marriage license from Canada and I have called the government offices here and unfortunately they have not been able to answer my question in a language I can understand.

We are legally married, certificate and all but we live in California. Is there anything I need to do with the Canadian license to make it official here or are we ok?

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. I want to make sure everything is done properly.
