Getting Married on the Isle of Man

If you are planning to get married in the Isle of Man, make sure you understand the requirements and marriage regulations.
ID Requirement:

Passport or other identity document. If under 21, a birth certificate is required. They prefer to have everyone bring a birth certificate. They will want proof of your name, age, marital status and nationality.

Residency Requirement:
Fifteen days.

Previous Marriages:

If you are divorced or widowed, you need to show evidence such as an original death certificate or divorce absolute certificate with the original court seal. They will not accept photocopies.
Other Tests:
No other tests.

Waiting Period:

Twenty-one days. If only one of you is a resident, then if you are married by certificate and license, the waiting period is three days.

Fees:

At the registrar's office £44.40. The amount includes the notice fee, the license for marriage, service in the register office, and a copy of the marriage certificate.
Proxy Marriages:
No.

Under 18:

If you are 16 or 17 years old, you must have the written consent of your parents or legal guardian.
Cousin Marriages:
Yes.
Common Law Marriages:
No.
Same Sex Marriages:
No.
Miscellaneous:
The notice is valid for three months.
