Katerina Kurkova and Matthew Emmons Marriage Profile

Katerina Kurkova: November 17, 1983 in Plzen, Czech Republic.

Matthew Emmons: April 5, 1981 in Mount Holly, New Jersey.

Matt and Katie met in 2004 at the Athens Olympics in a beer garden after Matthew finished eighth after firing at the wrong target. Katie offered her condolences.

Later, Matt proposed on Valentine's Day.

Matt and Katerina were married in Pilsen, Czech Republic on June 30, 2007 at an old farm house complex.

Katerina: Competes for Czech Republic in the Women's 10m Air Rifle event. In the Athens 2004 Olympics, Katy won a bronze medal. She won a silver medal and a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and set a new Olympic record.

Matt: Competes for U.S. in Men's 50-meter Rifle Prone. In the Athens 2004 Olympics Matt won a gold medal. He won a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Katerina: "We just call it magic -- like one of those things you where you feel like the other person's interested ... it was really interesting. I just felt like we had a lot of things we could talk about, a lot in common. There was always something about him that I couldn't oversee."

Matt: "It's really funny because, I remember the first moment even until now, nothing's really changed. The feeling's been the same. It was pretty easy for me; like a 2x4 hit me over the head. Like poof, 'This is the girl you want to marry?' 'Yes it is.' It was an easy decision for me."
