Getting Hitched ... the Good, the Bad and the Ugly Blog
by Emily and Topher
Emily and TopherWhen Topher and Emily met it was fireworks... literally. Their chance
meeting at a Fourth of July party led to two years of attending the same
parties, dating each others' friends, and long chats over the phone. The
Northwest natives eventually started dating and endured a long distance
relationship for two years while Emily worked toward her journalism degree.
Topher shocked Emily with a proposal on their four year anniversary in 2004. As they prepared to leave for dinner he stopped her at the hotel room door. She turned around and he was on one knee with a ring in his hand. Although they hoped to wed in Scotland, their wedding plans hit a speed bump when Topher, a food and beverage manager, transferred from a city club in Seattle to a country club in southern California. Now the Santa Monica residents must pick up the plans where they left off and decide if they can really pull off a destination wedding. Wednesday October 26, 2005 | comments (2)
