Understanding Grief & Loss

We, along with the rest of the world, have been watching the heart wrenching images of the tragedy inflicted on innocent people on September 11, 2001.

Hearing the victims' families talk of their last words with their loved ones has made us reflect on how we interact with one another on a daily basis. It is so easy to take the presence of those we love for granted. We can forget to focus on letting them know of our love as what truly matters.

  • Say "I love you" to one another often. They could be the last words you speak to your loved ones.
  • Appreciate what you have.
  • Hold your loved ones and hug them every day.
  • Let go of the small annoyances.
  • Listen more deeply to one another.
  • Don't keep anger in your heart.
  • Focus on the positive in your relationships.

Our hearts and prayers are with the victims, their families and friends, and also with the awesome rescue workers and their families.
