Andy Griffith: At the age of 86, at his home on Roanoke Island in North Carolina, Andy Griffith died from a heart attack on July 3, 2012. He suffered previously from Guillain-Barre Syndrome. In 2000, he underwent quadruple heart-bypass surgery and had hip surgery in 2007.

Children:

Andy Griffith, Jr: Born in 1957. Andy Jr died in 1996. Known as Sam, he was a real-estate developer.
Dixie Nann Griffith: Born abt. 1960.

Residence:

Andy owned an estate on Roanoke Sound in North Carolina for many years.
