You know what s'mores are, right? Chocolate, a marshmallow, and two graham crackers getting nice and toasty over a campfire! It's a marvelous tradition. Don't miss sharing it together.
Here are some other things you can do this summer that are both healthy and fun for your marriage relationship.
- Try not answering the telephone when the two of you are together and wanting to have fun.
- Give yourself at least one hour of quiet and solitude each week. If you can manage some time -- even 15 minutes -- each day, that would be even better.
- Give yourselves some time alone, with nothing scheduled to do, with the kids asleep or away somewhere.
- Read a book. The book "Simple Abundance" by Sarah Ban Breathnach makes good points about living simply.

- When the grass is really tall, don't mow it like you usually do. Instead take the lawmower and cut a maze in the grass. Make some dead ends and only one way to get to the "prize" -- you! See how long it will take your spouse to find you! We are talking very tall grass here!
- Read a classic book together -- a chapter a night. When was the last time you read a good mystery or romance together?
- When was the last time you wrote a love letter to one another? Do it!
- Take a penny hike. Once you are out the door, flip a penny at every corner. Heads -- turn right. Tails -- turn left.
- Plan a vacation in your own town. Go to your local visitors center or Chamber of Commerce and pick up brochures of places to see and things to do that are within 25 miles of your home.
